IMHO, Many Land Rover dealers are part of mega-companies with multiple marques under their belt and have zero brand loyalty for the vehicles they sell.
Ford PAG, destroyed any brand loyalty when they cancelled the dealerships of long time dealers like Modern Motors in Dungog, because "they weren't big enough.
One of the new LR dealers in Sydney is Sutton's Motor Group. Under their banner are:
- Holden,
- Alfa Romeo, Fiat
- DAF
- Hino
- Hyundai
- Infiniti
- Isuzu
- Jaguar
- JEEP, Dodge, Chrysler
- Kenworth
- Land Rover
- Mitsubishi
- Nissan
- Porsche
- Subaru
- Toyota
- Volvo
Another is Trivett:
- Aston Martin
- Bentley
- BMW
- Harley Davidson
- Honda
- Jaguar
- Land Rover
- McLaren
- Mini
- Rolls Royce
- Skoda
- Volvo
Go the loyalty!
Hi El Ray. Of the advice you've had so far, The best advice is to call JLR Customer Service. As promised, I spoke with my dealer today. His advice is that whilst JLR might be able to impose a certain number of "Run Out Packs" on your Dealer, they would be Dealer fitted and he can not impose them on you. He should deliver to you what he he's been contracted to deliver. Stand firm. Call JLR Customer Service and get them to put a rocket up him.
Cheers, Billy.
Got to ask, is this Austral in Brisbane?
My buying experience at the dealer under the bolte bridge in Melbourne was fantastic. Seemed genuinely happy to be selling a defender. When I took delivery of it the salesperson had someone who wanted to look at range rovers, who they kept waiting for about 20 minutes while we went through everything! I hope this gets sorted out for you mate, keep us updated.
^^^^^ when I went to view a Defender the sale person walked straight past me and headed to a Asian couple who were looking at a top of the range Range Rover, I must have waited at least 30 minutes before he ask if he could help me. Even now I get talked at and not too, if I didn't want this car as much as I do I would have cancelled the order and bought a good used one, they have not been the best to deal with, can't wait to get the questionnaire from LR Australia.
In a way I am glad the Defender production is ending as I don't like the looks (and the price) of any of the other models!
