Replace the spade terminal on the fuel solenoid feed wire and emery the spade on the switch. Pat
Twice now and about 4 months apart, my Defender has cranked without starting. On the first occasion, After cranking two or three times without starting, I pumped the hand prime on the lift pump, after which, it started.
On the second occasion I cranked it twice without success but the it started next time.
It's on it's original lift pump. Is this likely to be the culprit, or is there something else I should look at?

dont forget to crimp the lugs on the female spade connection a little bit so it hangs on better or get the expsensvie ones with the lifted center bit that works kind of like a spring.
you might also have areated fuel getting into the pump which is just enough to cause the plunger to loose prime and take a couple of shots to get it to start but you'll usually have other running issues if this happens.
