May want to use *dual* rather than duel though - don't want those batteries fighting each other

						Hi Guys,
Getting a long awaited duel battery set up. Under the passenger seat of a 110 02.
What 2 batteries fit to give me the most amps, without spending to much.
Cheers

Are you talking about Amp Hours, or Cold Cranking Amps?
My guess is the former.
There is plenty of offerings out there in regards to dual battery controllers / charging relays, so I guess you might be more after some details on the best batteries which compromise between CCA and Ah.
Will you be running with a winch or just to get extra capacity for camping, running a fridge etc?

SubscriberI fitted dual Optima yellow top AGM batteries. They sit cross-wise, with a plywood packer underneath (I think 12mm) so they can extend over to the slightly higher part of the floor. I don't think you can do much better in terms of capacity but they are not cheap. At times when I am doing a lot of local short distance driving, I top them up once a month with a 240v Ctek charger to make sure they remain fully charged.

						Hi Fatcat,
I also used the Optima yellow tops. I feel they give a good balance between CCA and AmpHours. Had them in for two years now - and no issues.
Here is a link to my install which may give you a few more details/ideas.

What's wrong with the standard Land Rover battery, optimas are are close to 300bucks why is everyone buying two of them?
I've got a yellow top paired up with my standard LR varta battery no problems.

SubscriberI'm not sure how you fit in an Optima with the standard battery. However in any event, it is not really ideal to have an AGM in parallel with a wet cell battery and I over-ride the isolator with a battery switch to sue two batteries for winching.
My installation is almost identical to Willow 4's. Yes, it is expensive.
They fit, I've got a tray made by piranha that takes the standard LR battery plus smaller type (exide orbital, optima etc), screws into existing holes in compartment under the passenger seat
