No sorry, I hadn't been tracking it and just waited for the phone call to say it was here..
That's good to hear as I have a bit of an aversion to main dealer service departments. Do you know if he works out of the one on Tulip street?

Yes, was a bit worried about that so I checked it out this afternoon ;). Yes it is the one until they move back to Nepean at the end of next year.
However they say they don't need to see the car for 12 months or 20k after driving it out of the showroom??
I thought most marques got them back in at 1500ks to drop the oil and make sure all the nuts and bolts are tight? Thought that would have been especially relevant for a car that predominately hand built.
Guess they know what they're doing
Great point on the 1st service interval - through my work I was able to get 3 years free servicing which was a nice surprise - concerns me that the 1st service not due for 26,000kms. Am sure the oil should be dropped in any new car / truck sooner than that. Might pay for a oil / filter change at say 5000 just for some peace of mind i'm thinking.
I used to concern myself with that sort of stuff,....not any more!
We've had a few new cars, most with more "sophisticated" higher outputs than the Defender, and NONE of them have required that "initial" 1500K oil drop,....so now I just go along with the service book!
Gracie's now done 35,000ks, I checked the oil the other day, it's a bit dark as you would expect, but it's nice & smooth etc, next change due at 44,000ks or 12 months from the last, whichever is the sooner.
Pickles.
I go back to basics on this...
The 2.2 is a Ford engine, fitted to thousands of Transit vans worldwide. And most of them are probably thrashed as work vehicles from day one!!! With no apparent ill effect!
Stick with the standard schedule IMHO. :>))
Thanks... I will keep the faith.
There is the caveat, arduous use, 10,000 km service.
