As I have found, Long Ranger have not actually fitted this tank to a Defender TDCi (puma).
*The Defender 2.2lt TDCi (puma) has the fuel lift pump assembly rotated 90 deg.
*There is a tab on the lift pump assembly that needs to be removed so the pump can be rotated and installed in its factory location.
*Cut the plastic tab off cleanly with a grinder using a thin blade.
*The connecting fuel hoses wont fit if you dont do this mod to the fuel lift pump assembly.
*Also ensure the factory easy fill hose (its the 25mm (there abouts)) that runs from the top of the tank and goes to the top of the filler neck is replaced with a good quality diesel proof hose and is then routed between the top of the chassis and the body, if it not routed like this there will be a low point in that hose where diesel will sit if you fill the tank, this low point wont drain into the tank.
*The small breather outlet on the passenger side of the tank should be routed across to the filler neck side and on the end right up the top by the filler neck install the plastic (factory) one way valve. That way if the valve sticks open it wont allow diesel to poor out of it.
*The factory Land Rover towbar wont work, nor will any towbar that has a tubular cross section, one of the Hayman Reece towbars works fine, the other Hayman Reece bar works if the side mounting plates are linished (bevelled) on their top edge.

Daz
P.S I should have said the plastic tab is what has been rotated 90 deg compared to the TD5. Also from memory there is only two bolts for the forward (diff side) of the tank, drill out the other two hole and add two more bolts, bigger if you feel the need. I also coat the tanks with a durable black coating rather than leaving them a grey primer colour.
