Maybe the pads need roughing up a bit.
Some pads are notorious for squealing because they are too hard or have a glaze on them that needs taking off.

 rear brake squeal
recently replaced the rear pads on my 2000 130 to stop brake squeal . they were well overdue for a change . put new ones in and it stopped the squeal but after a week of moderate use the squeal has come back twice as bad as ever ! any ideas on why would be appreciated .

Have you fitted the anti-squeal shims? Made the difference between lots and no squeal on my 130

think that might be it steve g . I left them out when I replaced them because they looked very worn , but will put them back in . have also been told to put anti seize on back of pads . does that sound right ?

My screeching issue was resolved by fitting genuine pads
Don.
The old remedy was copper grease on the backside of the pad. For $20 you can buy an anti-squeal solution from any reprutable parts supplier. It forms a gum layer that is intended to absorb vibrations. Like others I found the shims to work well. MLD
