I wish I had done this some months ago, as regular trips between the bush property & house in Perth result in us dropping rubbish off at the neighbours with their complete knowledge, and 4 weeks ago this did not end well for our little Auster who got mauled by their Staffy Bull Terrier. Not the neighbours fault but our little fellas for running into their compound. Anyway many $$$$'s later, two operations he is now on the mend:

Thanks Pickles, It has been a long 5 weeks as one of us has been with him almost constantly. I think he is just as psychologically scarred as he is physically.

Did you get a fix for the melting mudflap? and the black crap that makes the silver look black?

There are only 3 bolts (8mm) holding the flap to the crossmember, so I will just keep it for shows. My short term repair with pinch weld is holding up well & with the white tyre marker I can make it look almost like new.

This came from 4X4Overlander.com in the UK but is the Nakatanenga product. Again helpful service & looks like a ram xgripIII will fit an iPad 3 & maybe an iPad mini in its case.

Anderson Plug for air compressor, solar panel charger, fridge, etc. Slotted hole cut in battery cover to facilitate installation - it's just a cover!:

Holes drilled for rivets & dash lid, then painted with etch primer & matt black acrylic. Edged with small size pinch weld to prevent cuts on the sharp edges which were deburred but still quite sharp, as I only had 0.5mm thick alloy in the shed. Pinch weld also stiffens this up:

Rivet lid plate, & hinge plate to piano hinge - went for the Heritage brass version. Hinge plate then screws to existing cover mount using the same screws:

Cracking thread there fella you've given me a whole lot of ideas for my 130 but the best is your glove box build. As I was found to do the same as you and get one from the uk. But having seen your build there I'm going to have a go too so thanks for your pics Anh instructions......:D

With thanks to a austastar for his post of June 2010 on installing the longer Wolf style mirror arms. With a caravan arriving in the next couple of months I ordered a set of the longer arm, & on this wet Saturday decided it was time to install:

So forwarned by austatstar that these hinge bolts do not have captive nuts, I made a plasticard lock tool & blue tac with some extra shims of plasticard jammed between the nuts & door skin:

Removed the bolts folded out the hinge to reveal not a lot of Grasmere green paint under the hinge, some extra hairy stuff & paint through to metal on the door presumable from the rubber gasket:

You can also see the two phillips screws which secure the arms to the hinge. I have coated all of this with ACF-50 so hopefully corrosion will not be an issue!

Installed the mirror arms & bolted up the hinge. There is a rubber gasket between the hinge & the door, one on the L/H side & 2 on the drivers side!
