Is there any issues with legality or warranty by doing this?

I've got no mufflers in mine but have retained the cat - slightly improved pick up and a bit of a note (mostly from outside the truck). Droning hasn't been an issue to date.

    Pat and Shane.

Thanks for the info Pat. I did wonder about this a couple of weeks ago when I had to remount the heat shield on it. A pain in the butt,,, thought to self,, maybe I could just take it off
I've got some exhaust wrap to go on, but haven't got to it yet.
In my car, I get roughly 570 consistently from when the light comes on, depending how I drive (city). I do notice when I fill it, if I give the car a wriggle as I fill, I get a couple more Lts into the tank/hose, which can make a huge difference to how far I go.
I've had figures of 620 to the light on a few occasions, but during those times, I've not gone over 100K's on the clock, which is about 95/6 on the Garman/Hema.

Shane, thanks for the info on the heat/sound shield. Your report is good, think I'll invest in some of this stuff when the cash is there. Did you end up with much left over (?), just looking to see how much I should order. Do you know if its purely for inside the car, or could it also be used under it as well? I have to remove the gearbox soon to replace the clutch, so it might be a good time to deal with this. I was just going to use alloy type sheeting, similar to what is around the turbo now.

I removed the centre muffler and cat from my TD5 90.
I def over boosted way quicker than before and had a totally different engine noise coming through from the motor itself.
Like a really weird grumbly noise.
Kinda like the noise of a bearing about to distort itself.
Was a little worried about over spin.
I backed of the turbo a fair bit and it's helped.
My car had heaps of sound treatment so it wasn't any louder inside.
A nicer sound behind the car too.

    Hi all,
Resurrecting this thread as it's been about eight months since original posting and I was wondering if opinions have changed in that time.I've noticed on another thread a member has blown his turbo after removing all the restrictions, but he'd gone to 3" dia.

I too am interested in this. I've just done the 170 BAS tune and am very happy with it just seeing if this is something good to do or not. Seem to be mixed opinions. Would love it to change the sound of the car as I find it a bit tinny

    I haven't deleted a muffler, rather, I fitted a 2.5" straight through box...

    On a 2.2?

Change note of exhaust? Spool quicker? Heat under your feet?
