    Agreed...

And at the end of the day, it would be very easy to just walk past any 'Celebration' edition' Heritage, Adventure or Autobiography, and just simply take a photo of the metal VIN plate that is clearly visible in the front window!

    Information sorted.

The bloke on the service counter just needs to ask the right questions, and the buyer needs to answer them satisfactorily, money exchanges hands, and everyone is happy. He might ruffle the feathers of the special edition crowd, but that's the risk vs reward the OP would need to consider. I've bought parts out of an australian dealership using and australian VIN for an import model that they wouldn't honor the VIN number for, even though I had the correct part number for them to order, which was identical between models (the joys of owning a jap import). Realistically, the guy at the computer is trying to check that the part the customer asks for is compatible with the vehicle they say they own.

    Agree ✅✅✅

If you do that I'm going to ring up LR and dob on you. That's not allowed. It's not fair. I think I have LR's phone number somewhere in my hand bag next to my naprogesic. Ha ha ha

The issue is that it's a limited production run, there'll be no more made, if every man and their dog buys them all up, there'll be none left for when a genuine gets damaged... also it detracts from the exclusivity of owning one of the special editions... I'm sure you guys would moan if someone ripped off something you paid an extra 30k for.

Sure, make a copy of it any day you want, and sell them at a profit, but sneaky **** isn't cool... No different to HSV/FPV.

    Dude,
there'll always be a P plater with a walkinshaw kit on a VL.
Likewise the HSV bodykit, or other 'special' parts will be used on the vehicles.

If you put a limited edition grille on any other defender, it's still just a special part on an ordinary vehicle.

I don't see why this is such a big deal?
