    Traction control light

    Hi guys,

Long story but today i came into work to find one of the trucks had a flat battery.

So i went and got out my jump leads and hooked them up to the truck and my dual battery in the back of my 110.

The battery was pretty flat so i started reving the engine in my defender in neutral to create extra power. All of a sudden my t/c light started flashing on and off. As soon as i took the jump leads off it stopped and i cant get it to do it again. Is something wrong or what could it be?

Only happen with the jumper leads on....

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Cha Ching. You have major problems book it in with us and we will fix it. Ha ha ha

Unless it happens while your driving or happens again more frequent, I wouldn't worry.
It could have something to do with a surge of power or could not, maybe just a coincidence, or a glitch. Wait it out or go test the TC in some slippery stuff.

Interested to know how you go about that. One of our CAT 12Ms has an electrical issue,if the operator hasnt isolated it we have to get the 24V isuzu service truck to jump start it.

Andrew I actually think I read somewhere that the new 2018 Defender is going to be 24 volt so it can be used successfully to jump start real trucks without causing fault lights to come on. ...

I sorted it out today with our auto elec.
The way he set my dual battery means that i shouldnt be jump starting anything in the first place. Its set up to run all my auxilry things...
I blew one of the fuses and caused the computer to go spastic. New fuse and circuit breaker and all sorted

Did your auto electrician explain the difference between 12 volt Defenders and 24 volt trucks?

There seems to be an assumption that the truck is 24V

Depending on if its a U.S, European or a Japanese truck, it could be either.

Yes I am assuming that it is 24v, because nothing has been said by the op to say it wasn't since this point was first raised.

If it wasn't then fair enough.
