anyone running Bridgestone 661 tyres....? and could give some feedback..... and perhaps post a pic....?
the 265 cooper st maxx I'm running are falling apart out here on the central desert roads after 40,000k's..... I have heard the 661's are much better suited to the environment here.... also wondering if 235's will go better because of less rolling resistance in the softer stuff and less blocky tread pattern....?
brains trust thoughts greatly appreciated.....
btw... I've searched but almost no threads come up re the 661's, cheers.

funny you mention that, I've noticed a lot of station utes running 661's ... very few if any running big aggressive tyres.... I guess that part of why I'm thinking the way I am

yep... always been pretty careful pressure wise, most of my driving is on the stony dirt out here and I run 32-ish more in the rear of loaded heavy.... also thinking running 235's will have less wear on the driveline components etc....
would like to hear people's experiences though.... very few landys seem to be running the 661's....

Yep learnt my lesson on the Cape and PNG. Look at what the locals use and I will bet it isnt the latest wonder mud plugger miracle tyres. heavy road transport in PNG loved bandag retreads. Most of the troopies ran what they came with. Other trick is to ask what the local tyre service sell the most of to businesses.
roo shooter specials may not be good for Alice Darwin in a hurry though....

Bridgestones would be the go as they don't seem to chip as much as American tyres,particularly on road conditions that you have out there.
As for size,i don't know if 235 would be any better.They may be cheaper though.

Can vouch for those 661's, we run them on all of the work utes over this side. Tried to upload photos but the nets not working well enough. My rears have done about 20,000km at the moment and while starting to show some wear, there's no chipping happening so far.
My tyres get an absolute flogging. I cross the Gibb once a month via Kalumburu and Mitchell Plateau, sometimes the Tanami and Duncan as well as many many highway miles. I'm towing a tandem as well as a fully loaded ute. Running round 32-40 psi
In my 45,000km on these roads I've had one flat and that was with particularly worn tyres on the eastern side of the Gibb, just after the grader had been through. I was expecting a flat at some point
I'm honestly beginning to question my faith in the BF Goodrichs on the Landy, saying that I have hardly driven the Landy since I've been in Broome
