    Tools for a belt change

    Hi Guys,

    What tools do i need to change fan belt on a 2002 TD5 Defender.

    Do i need to remove the viscous fan and use a 36mm spanner


    one week 2 days till we leave for the Simpson

    couple of screw drivers to get the shroud off and then a combo 14/15mm double off set or long throw single offset ring/ring spanner to lift the tensioner. (its usually a #2 phillips but some people put other things in.)

    then swearwords.

    a piece of cardboard and a fan hub spanner to remove the viscus fan makes it a lot easier. but you're still likely to swear at it.

    check, double and triple check the pully barings for the fan while the belts off.

    no bunnings wont.

    Ive got the combo 32/36mm one one side or theother fits most landy fans.

    you can variously get them from supercheap repco and trade tool shops
