My solution was to remove the lock/handle assembly complete & wash it on a container of diesel fuel. Dry off & coat with a Teflon based spray available from good locksmiths. Don't use WD40 or graphite as these both attract dust.
You can also use the Teflon spray, shock has a fast evaporating propellant, too lubricate your lock barrels including your ignition barrel.
Discovered wd40 ptfe for locks etc at burnings, then discovered I had my Png wallet and no t m y Oz one.
