    Replacement Defender Seats.

Col, I know that Pete (land864 on here) fitted Subaru seats to his county. Might be worth getting hold of him and having a sit in them if they are still fitted.
Personally I find the Puma seats not such a good fit and lacking in lumbar support. With the addition of a thinly folded t-shirt I had no dramas with the 15KKms we did while in Africa last year though.

To me it's really a case of spending a few hours in any particular seat before I know whether it fits me. Some seats my wife says are great I can't stand sitting in. It's a very personal thing.
Is there something particular that you find uncomfortable with yours?

Hi Steve, Yes, just don't find the standard TD5 seat that comfortable....so looking at replacing the Drivers seat.... plus looking at doing Cape York July 2017, so will be spending a lot of time in the drivers seat.
As said, have had Recaro's in the past and liked them.

Might look at the Subaru or BMW seats....but like you said prob need to try one 1st.....

    maybe Exmoor

    Hello again,
forgot to mention before in my 13 puma 130 CC we did put in Exmoor premium seats before doing the Kimberly due to such a long trip --these excite everyone who sits on them so we are very happy with them due to adjustable lumber support, nice side cushion and lift out cushion as per normal Defender seat--BUT they are pricey.

I'm quite comfy in my Puma seat how it has the extended runners so I can get it further back, but then I like a firm seat and find many car seats too soft and wallowy. I do have a sheepskin on the seat though - have you tried adding a sheepskin? Might be a cheap fix.

    Hi Cactus

I am buying some Subaru Liberty seats in Perth to take down to fit into my 1985 County in Yallingup and was hoping to get the "bolt-in" ready up here as have access to welder/workshop. Can you tell me the hole locations/centres on the defender seat box, and setback from front edge? Hopefully the lateral/sideways measurement is the same (from some forum readings) and just need fore/aft adjustment......

    Cheers

I also need to upgrade or replace the foam in my 110 as its starting to disintegrate. Can you let us know how you go? Maybe a photo or two. Was thinking the Subaru XV has quite narrow seats, seemed comfortable, possible they are the same seats as the liberty. I've managed a temp fix with duct tape to stop the yellow dust spilling out but it wont last forever. Ball park figure for your liberty replacements?
