    Puma Keyless Entry Fob

My key fob will only lock and unlock my 130 2009 Puma if I am within 0.5 metres from the door. I have put new batteries in the unit but it made no difference.

Is this normal and if not how can I improve the distance I can be from the Fender?

My work car - Ford Territory can be locked and unlocked from across the road some 15 metres or more away.

    Any advice would be welcomed.

    Thanks
    Chenz

the range on mine is far better. There is a post on here somewhere on a DIY fix to improve the range.
I would suggest .5 meter is not normal.

I'm always worried when putting fob in my pocket I'll accidentally re-open it. Maybe less range is better.

That works for me. but I usually hold it against my skull and range becomes much better. Learnt this trick from top gear.

I extended the antenna wire on the receiver up the A-pillar and across the windscreen, made it a bit better but still not-so-remote.

    Also,
    For spare/extra keys/remote fob.
Much cheaper than through Land Rover Australia...
And it's all one unit too, and easy to program.

You still have to get the key blank cut though, but any reasonable key shop or locksmith can do that.
