    Another suspension question

Hi all. I have a set of +3 Dobinson springs & Superior super flex arms ready to fit to my 95 110. I want to retain the springs & remove my dislocation cone set up. I've seen the upper rear retainers that APT make, but I want to find another solution. Has any one retained the tops of their front & rear springs, & if so how did you do it? I've thought of welding bits of bent 5mm plate to the upper mounts to catch the first coil wind. Also, What shocks do people run? Price isn't a barrier, but I won't buy top shelf gear as I don't need that sort of quality. I know people run 7100s & Armada. How do these perform? What valving do people run? My car has a steel full size bar with a 40kg ish winch, & I usually have no more than 100kg in the back. Cheers in advance.

    Mick.

    Hey mate,

Have a look at grimace and Psimpson7 threads on GCLRO forum (you can access it from the drop down menu bottom right) they run 7100s and go through valving in detail.

    Hi

I run superlflex coils 520mm rear free length. Retained at bottom with Les Richmond and atop via APT - works just fine. The APT sit askew to match the wind of the spring which is a asymmetric to look at but they work fine.

I run 7100 series shocks at the rear with 400/100 valving 14" long at rear with raised shock risers (my own design) and extended bumpstops. Damping is good, wouldn't change it. They are noisy though with the rose jointed ends.

All this is on a 110 County V8.

Standard springs with Koni Raid or Bilstein B6. Simple. No hassles. Excellent capability and durability.
