Thread: Tacho- Really could use some suggestions!

I think it might just be that model tacho? Because my Td5 has the 8000rpm VDO tacho and it works fine.. Not sure exactly how its wired as it was fitted by the previous owner but in terms of functionality its fine.

I have used this product from sparkfun (actually an older version but this one is better) to do similiar things for 5V to 12V logic in car stuff. It actually has 4 channels but you only need one for a tacho. It's really just a transistor and a few resistors on a board but its easy to wire in this way. and its only $3 but postage from sparkfun would be silly if thats all your buying I think.
