I am not sure how they do these things. I have asked someone who is training to work there to tell me when he comes back from the training course. I'll fill in the details when I get them.

Started installing a double din kit.
Got one from Aliexpress with the vents for about NZD220. Pretty good for the money.
Came with a metal template for cutting out the facia for the relocated switches and metal mounting plates.
The Xmas pressie dremel tool got pulled out and put to use. The facia has clips on the side but they are pretty token but clicks in...but the facia isn't firmly on. I don't want to glue it so plugged in the heavy hazard light cable and used a zip tie to pull back on it - not flash but surprisingly effective.
Extended the rear wiper plug wiring and everything else has enough length.
Had an alpine single din head unit but went with this Pioneer double: Pioneer DMH-Z6350BT 6.8" Capacitive Touch-Screen | Apple CarPlay | Android Auto | Alexa
Saved hundreds buying through this store. Will have to figure out what adapter I need to plug in the cabling.
Will add rear camera..may be a front one too as it can take 2.
Will post update as progress is made.

Seems to fit OK.. but gappy either side of the vents. Have screwed in yet. Doesn't seem to need the metal clips off the old facia.

is used a strip of thin and shallow height foam around the upper vent and around the dials for the air. the foam for the upper vent was to in fill the gap between the upper and lower pieces and the dials is because the gap between the dials and facia allows the back light to show up (quite bright in my case). The other thing to consider is a thin silicon bead around the backside of the side panel to glue it to the dash. Mine is tight but still pops out on corrugations or large hits. Yours might be different but i found i needed the original clips to hold the double din facia snug. Dropping the clip down the back is a RPITA to retrieve. Be careful when removing the facia for that reason. Wait until to connect up all the wires that the Head unit accommodates, it becomes a birds nest back there. My tip is to label wires because in 12 months time you will rub off a patch of hair wondering what the hell you did.
Everything ready for head unit. Added some trim around heater vent. Will see if more needed down sides. Added 3 of the 4 metal tabs from old facia. Found screws to add mount. Cig lighter is a **** to remove.

Put in the double din. Will get a better photo.
There is a big gap at the top. It is the facia not the radio. I'll have a play another time...might just need something trimmed.
Surprised how good my stock speakers sound now. Wireless Android Auto is awesome too.

That big gap is caused by the full sized chassis hitting the support bracket behind the dash.
I don't think so...got a narrow depth unit and cut back the bracket?

Here is the depth at the back.

Thanks
I had a similar issue, just need to work on getting the vents to pick up the ducting ok and it should push back correctly.
