    Additions to the 90

Not mine but my daughter's 90 300 tdi. It was her birthday recently and true to form she got more gear for her 90. This time it was light guards and a ladder. I got them from Masai 4x4. I chose these as they are "Zinc plating for long life rust protection. Black automotive powder-coat paint finish for durability."
There is enough space between the ladder and the rear of the 90 to remove a light lens to change a bulb. The service from Masai was excellent.

    Installed the Allisport intercooler

Well, had a boost leak so I thought I’d do the most probable. Replaced all flexible rubber with Silicon.
Boost leak continued so bit the bullet and bought an Allisport intercooler.
fitted yesterday, finally, no boost leak.C5F40BFF-AFA4-4AD4-A0CC-449F73D54EBA.jpg

Monty was long overdue a facelift in the cockpit and the Melvill and Moon seat covers had holes in so I removed the seats (and sold them), took out 2.6 kilos of crisps, snacks, pens, coins, washers, nuts, screws and various other odds and sods from down the side of the seats, including the lingering odour of 10 years of stale farts and threw in the new seats.

Wiring up the heated seat elements wasn't hard, I just piggy-backed the cigarette lighter circuit and ran the +ve through into the ExBox and up to the switches which I drilled holes for in the cup holder.

Very comfy, looks amazing, very happy with the outcome.

New steering wheel (Momo Jet). Yes I know, the LR sticker isn't straight. I'll adjust it by the time the Expo comes around ;-)

How do find the extra height of the cubby box lid on top of the Ex-box?

I stupidly ordered the new cubby box from Exmoor Trim not realising it was much taller than the original....so with the ExBox already in place, it would have been much too high.....so I took the original cubby box and fitted it with the new Exmoor box's lid and interior carpet. The top of the lid foam is a couple of cm higher than the original but so much more comfortable and looks awesome. I love it.

The top of the cubby box is aligned with the door window sill height.

what i read is you spent $600 for a padded lid. I could have bought you a section of gymnastic mat and glued it to the old cubby box for $20. If your cubby lid is aligned with the window sill, you must look like you are trying to fly with both elbows up around your ears.

Don't be ridiculous, man. I spent $600 for a padded lid AND interior carpet AND a shiny new cup holder AND an important lesson about reading dimensions before purchasing which despite many years of experience I seem perfectly immune to learning.

This represents something of a bargain, so offering me a section of your second-hand, sweaty gymnastic mat, while terribly kind of you, is most unnecessary. You keep it and by all means continue to do on it whatever it is that you do on your gymnastic mat. The mind boggles.

The now expensive cubby box lid being aligned to the window sill is PERFECT as both elbows are at the same height now....and by window 'sill' I mean of course the point at which the glass disappears into the door...so about aligned with the base of my ribcage as opposed to my ears.

Quiet day in the Wollongong Court House, is it? ;-)

My Defender is getting checker plating bonnet and wings today. I'm slowly building him up to reach the same condition as his predecessor.

The external roll cage order goes in this week.
