Although yes, only factory approved/fitted light options are ADR compliant. It’s not just a matter of getting a stamped light and fitting it.

The LED headlights were just generic ones that a previous owner had installed, but coded. The roadworthy business referenced the ADR and said that they were non compliant and need to be replaced with halogen as vicroads wouldn’t pass them. I’ll replace these halogens with JW Speaker LED’s in due course.

Must be a lot of vehicles running around with aftermarket LED lights which were not an original fitment and would be failed by VicRoads.

Headlights, Indicators, Light Bars, Driving lights...
You name it....

And not just Vic...

In Queensland you don't get inspected unless you sell the vehicle, so lots of mods go uncorrected.

Same result in SA, no inspections unless defected!

Older vehicles as they move through the P plate generation just keep adding non-conforming gear

I received my replacement Double Din facia from Tune My Defender UK today, to replace my less than high quality item currently fitted.

To say I’m impressed with its quality is an understatement, and Tune My Defender always provide superb service and FAST international freight to Oz.

The adjustable top vents will be very welcome as well to enable a more comfortable heater/aircon fan output.

A highly recommended supplier for your gear.

Now I just have to wait to get my vehicle back from Les Richmonds’ with the new LS3 and auto box to be able to fit it.👍
