I recently had a pop top conversion so had to remove the two outback accessories spare wheel carriers off the rear cross member as they’re not “swing away”. Had fun returning the wiring back to standard then installed a set of wipac led lights all round. Very bright compared to the original lights. Now pondering replacing the headlights for led but not sure if it’s worth it as I have the traxide loom and driving lights. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations ?

    Tony,

We’ve had the Lighrs for a while now.
I’ve driven only a little at night, however Mrs Tombie has done a couple of long night runs (400-600km) each and tells me she’s really impressed.

Better than the previous ones and better light pattern.

    Install 45l Aux fuel tank

    Well, it’s done.
Thank Gawd! I’m glad it’s in, I’m even gladder I don’t do that for a living!
extends the range by another 450 Km’s and as it’s gravity fed, I’m hoping simplicity rules.
Bought from Paddock via Britpart. Directions are let’s say,….’minimal’.
Follow your nose and swear a lot and before you know it purgatory is over.
Next for the 42l water tank

if it is a aux fuel tank that sits in the rear quarter guard on a 110, my tip is to fabricate a guard in front of the fuel inlet into the main tank (assuming it is a long range tank with the inlet near the bottom). I've been in company of a 110 deep in a gorge in the middle of Australia and a rock took out the barbed fitting. We had to seal it with tank putty as a temp fix and high tail it to the next town (several hours drive). The alternative was the potential for both tanks to empty out because the damage was to the lowest point for both tanks.

Not what I did as such, but what I achieved - little old lady driving mode engaged and managed to get under 10l/100km between tank fills!

Give Dan a cupie doll. That's some discipline you've showen there man.
I put KO3s on mine today. A kind lady let me out as I was leaving the tire shop. The lights went green so I floored it and turned left on to parramatta Road, so as not to hold her up, you understand.. As it was quite wet, I expected a loss of traction especially on new tyres but there wasn't more than a barely noticeable drift. Then I tried to induce a little understeer turning left into Tebbutt Street but didn't try hard enough. indications are good so far. I know I have a lot more to do before I say how good they are.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
