    IMHO....
Defenders have always held their price really well, but they have gone insane... sellers believing somehow that potential Defender buyers are morons and will pay anything to have one....

Defender owners or potential Defender owners tend to be a bit more switched on than that though and generally are not going to be taken for a ride just because the Defender model has ceased production.

Prices though do seem to be dropping again as sellers realise the above...

    My thought is...
*If the replacement Defender (2018 or whenever) ends up being an awesome new Defender then the price of the "old" model will drop.
*If the replacement Defender (2018 or whenever) ends up being a pile of rubbish or just another new series of Discovery sport/evoque/range rover clone, then the price of the "old" models will increase...

I'm going to sit and wait

I guess its like anything in life, things are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Whether it be a house or a car.

As long as there is hype around end of model and Defenders are front of mind prices will stay high.

It sucks for anyone trying to get in to a Defender but is nice for anyone wanting to sell!

People are absolutely paying more for Defenders now that production has ceased, it isn't all dreamers. I think the 110 was always a bit of a bargain at $50k and the increase in secondary prices is simply a reflection of that.

I saw the other day that a dealer had sold a new 110 for $70k.

Sent from my SM-G900I using AULRO mobile app

    2013 Land Rover Defender MY13 110 (4x4) Grey 6 Speed Manual Wagon | Cars, Vans & Utes | Gumtree Australia Canning Area - Bentley | 1110680208

So would you think this is a fair price ? I'm interested in this but I think 60k plus taxes is a bit steep

Hey I feel for you Mittsy. In the past you'd say 'tell em the're dreamin' because you could buy a new one for that. back then you'd be looking at more like $45K for one like this second hand with 50K km on the clock. Now however, since they're not making em anymore it's tough to say. It looks like a very good example, sawtooths, reversing camera, few extras ...depending on service history / use etc. Will the dealer get what they're asking? Maybe. Because demand has grown relative to supply. It's now only the free market deciding, because there is no new car bench price anymore.

...If I were you I'd be clear on what my bottom line is and standing firm on a couple of offers. If you miss out you know the market is paying more. It's going to take some nerve.
