Custom Canopy Defender 130
Hi All
I have decided on a custom chequer plate alloy canopy for the 130. However, the last thing to be decided is its height.
The fabricator wants to make it below the headboard to allow for the rooftop tent to be installed which will see everything sitting at the headboard height and not sitting up in the breeze. Which l get.
However, l think l am going to lose valuable space and it will look funny when the RTT is not on.
I intend running a roofrack also - this will likely sit above the headboard (which is at the top of the roof line) anyway. I have had ARB racks in the past but am looking at alloy options this time around.
Anyone got any ideas/advice/thoughts? or PICS of their own canopy.
Thanks,
Michael

Not a very good photo of the canopy I had made to fit the dropside tray, but you get the idea.

I would suggest in place of a roof rack
Hit up Andrew Taylor - Shingleback Off-road for his 130 roll bar option
Then have the RTT sit level with that
Are you incorporating the canopy into a tub or tray?

Hi Michael, if you don't mind me asking who are you using for fabricating , lwould love to show you mine but it is still 2 months away which means it would of been with the Specilalist for a total of 18 months that is provided he is finished at the end of September 2016
Cheers

Regarding height my dilemma was that with the doors opening at the sides I didn't want them pivoting beyond 90 degrees to stop water running in at the ends of the hinges. This means that while the height is fine for me and SWMBO taller folk could find themselves running into the doors.
My inspiration was the very professional unit that Nugget built :nugget's Defender 130 build

Hi All
It is on an alloy tray. I am using True Blue Custom Fab in Somerville. He comes highly recommended and does excellent work.

I am likely to have a Hannibal RTT - which when packed up are 30cm high. I don think this is too much to be sitting up above the headboard?

The doors on my canopy work like those on a electrical fuse box, so even when open, the small amount of rain that gets through the continuous hinge, is diverted around the opening and down onto the ground.
