    35s on a puma 90

    Has anyone here done it?

What is involved? I know bigger guards for sure. Drivetrain? Do you drive it daily? Anyone with any info I would appreciate it

Not a Puma but my old Deffer I did.
35`s idealistic you should change ratio`s to at least 4.11 upgrade axles maybe
Off set rims -25 and a decent lift will do and of couse if using off set rim`s wider flares.
How much you want to spend

I've got the lift already. Need off set rims and rubber. What's the damage on ratio and axels? I know the flares I want are about $1000. So I'm looking at roughly 4K before doing ratio and axels 😕

Maybe il have to re think 35s...

Lift alone doesn't allow any larger tyres..
If they rub at stock height they will rub with a lift...
Lift only changes static ride height without other mods...

CW&P around $500 an end, then whilst out I'd do centres so something like Ashcroft locker or Trutrac at $900 an end.

    Axles and flanges $2k

    Driveshaft upgrades - $2k

Ok so then this "little" idea of mine will have to wait. It's a lot for one more inch. Lockers next.

And of course add some more beer tickets for assembling all the diff`s with said CW/P and lockers and at a guess roughly $300 + a end Yes it starts adding up Sorry you asked now

Just put 33s on it, a e locker, hi tuff axles and HD flanges. Will do what you need it to do without compromising power and over stressing the rest of the drive train

Yeah this is why I'm asking. My next thing was either go to 35s or front and rear lockers. Lockers it is

I would say that a lot of the stuff being mentioned for upgrade here (axles and flanges) people upgrade regardless of tyre size. So, if you're being generous with yourself you don't have to include it in your budget to "fit 35s" if you know what I mean?

Id suggest with lift and tough off road work you probably want to upgrade the control arms anyway (for improved strength and corrected castor). So thats like $700 for rears and $1300 for superior fronts.

Axles and flanges: probably $1000 each end at least.

Diff gearing: I have a td5 130. Yet to regear the diffs, as I'm thinking I'll put a Detroit in the rear while I'm at it, but I've just not got around to it.
My point is, I've come this far without regearing and its not a huge issue, for the short term.

Best advice: just find someone with them on a Puma and test drive it. Or just get a cheap, worn set on ****ty rims and test them out. You will notice the weight difference and the width difference etc. Gives a good idea of feasibility.
Also, get good flares, especially for your truck which is in mint condition. I cheaped out and got terrafirma ones. Really disappointing.

Dont hold back man the improvement off road is actually very marked.
I only wish there were more tyres avail in 35"x10.5".
