I've used dynamat on the floor panels, and everywhere under the seats in the back, then covered it all in marine carpet. A few mates have commented on how much better it is. Let's not confuse it with a luxury car, but it's possible to have a conversation at 100KMh now

I have just done my 300tdi 110
I found the best improvement by far was to add thick sound proofing under the bonnet. I took off the original mat under the bonnet and added a stick on 10mm rubber sound proofing. Then put back on the original bonnet cover.
This gave the best of all the sound proofing I did.
Just as we as I then took it on 4000ks round trip to Birdsville and was a joy to drive.
