Changing the oil in a Puma gear box video
changing gearbox oil on land rover defender puma - Bing video
I changed the fluid before by removing the inspection panel below the tray or cubbybox and gravity fed it down using a funnel and a length of tubing. This is not to be undertaken unless you are very, very patient! Owing to the thickness of the oil it goes down very very slowly. Feeding it from above using a pump like this would be a much better way. Enjoy.
P,S. the wife dreads me looking at stuff like this as she knows what'll be coming down the track. She is usually asked to assist

I do mine from below with a Tom Thumb pump bottle. Easy as to fill with the correct amount of 2.2ltrs which is a bit over 2 bottles full, lay there and gently pump away.
Transfer box and diffs the same, no mess and no rush.

Me too. I use a garden spray pump bottle from Bunnings to pump the exact amount into the gearbox from underneath.
The specified oil is really expensive and is sold in 1 litre bottles. The remaining 800ml has a shelf life

I also use a 1l hand pump for the gear box, transfer and diffs. I think mine are Kinchrome from auto one.
