From what I've seen, the Mantec is a good carrier for the money. I've replaced UK built carriers which have cracked on outback corrugations, but NOT the Mantec.

There are a couple of cracked Mantec's here in WA, that is why I'm ordering yours

Well, there you go then, I just haven't come across any myself.

As I've discussed with many customers, and on the forum, there's nothing 'wrong' with the quality of 'most' imported products when used as intended by the manufacturer, but a lot of them are simply not designed to cope with Outback Australian corrugations and the like.
I don't like to criticise other manufacturers directly because on the whole there's some great stuff out there, and afterall, we all love our Landys. I think the crux of the problem is they haven't actually experienced 'real' harsh road conditions themselves. I remember my very first outback trip and thinking "bloody hell". The corrugations were horrendous, and who's driven the gibber covered track from Mt Dare to Dalhousie Springs, 70kms of bone shaking randomness. These types of track are a true test for any accessory and I always think of those tracks when designing things.

You're spot on about those corrugations, they're shockers.

I have a Mantec carrier. I've seen the Ridji carriers, but don't have one. From what I've seen they are very strong and solid - an excellent Australian product.
