Expired L.R. Assist, & Extended Warranty etc?

Gracie, our '13 Puma 90 will be 3 yrs old in a month or so, therefore will be out of L.R. Assist & Warranty.
I note that I have the option of renewing L.R. Assist for 12 months, which I probably will do, but I don't think a "Landrover" extended warranty is available on Defender.
Just wondering what others have done here, I've seen that Allianz seem to be at the forefront of this type of product.
I've never been a fan of "?ftermarket" warranties, I've just seen them as a "Dealer Rip Off", but as Im mechanically hopeless, ? think some sort of cover is important to me!
Does anyone have any clues at all.
    Pickles.

Allianz have a very good rep. Some friends recently had cause to claim on their Allianz policy after their Golf engine detonated and their feedback was positive.

As to LR assist it would be worth comparing it against the RACV offerings before making a decision.

    Cheers

We went with RACV Total Care I think, (the top package anyway). Never had any issues with them, very helpful and easy to work with, although when we did use them, we were still under warranty, it was after that we went for the TC package. Travelling the way we want means we're well covered.

If you service with LR the extended road side assist is free. That is a very good comparison to the others.

My warranty finishes the same time as yours pickles. I've chosen to self fund future servicing & repairs by using a high interest savings account that I top up every fortnight.

Just do your homework & go with what your comfortable with.

At least you have had the output shaft replaced under warranty Martin !

All will be good mate, relax in the knowledge that actually the Puma is pretty reliable... and I know the way you drive Gracie, she will not even object to having a BAS remap now!

I believe JLR do have a pretty decent attitude to reciprocal 'good will' if you have had your vehicle serviced by them since new and heaven forbid something major did happen...

But the roadside assist sounds like a good option anyway.
