G'day fellas.
Good news, and I just bought my kit this morning.
I hope this is of use for those wanting clean intake air.
Thanks for the tip re this fellas.

Hi Ken,
The defender kits are new, technically not yet released.
They are listed here:
Product Categories Defender | Asgard Engineering
Proper product shots will go up this weekend and links to the new product on Facebook etc.

I wouldn't mind one of their air filter restriction indicators either.
I cringe every time I see someone pulling their air filter out and whacking the dust out of it, thinking they're doing their engine a favour!
Hi Beery.
My VW Transporter van has an air filter restriction gauge fitted.
I noted the Defender unit on their web site.
You think it's worth looking into, as if I don't need to take my airfilter out for inspection as much, the better!
Ken
Noticed the asgard pics on their site show this as mounted on LHS (Passenger side) of vehicle:
If I'm not mistaken, this occupies the same holes that the Nugget stuff breather kit uses.
Also, are there any disadvantages of having breather lines that are about a meter each way with 90 degree bends? Wouldn't the oil condense out of the air and leave bugger-all pressure for the filter on the end of all that hose?

Considering this kit was two years in development I couldn't believe how "rushed" it looks. Why they need four elbows on each hose is beyond me. Nando's looks a neater fit.

SubscriberI agree it looks "rushed". However it comes with mounts, correct hose (plenty of it by the looks), clamps and fittings to suit... so I'm thinking of making a purchase and "modifying" to suit. Does anyone know if the kit works for 2.4s?
Ward at Graeme Cooper automotive did a fantastic job. I think it looks "factory".
Toxic, in regards to the length ill be honest.....i dont have a clue. Its mounted in the same place most of the guys in the uk mount them (at least that's what i found when doing my research).

It's a strange concept- blowby is inevitable, but realistically, we want as much pressure to stay in the combustion chamber as possible. Excessive blow-by cold cause a run-away engine in an extreme case, but in real terms, there'd be bugger all airflow thru that hose, I'd hope.
I guess the benefit of the asgard kit is that it's on the cold (intake) side of the engine, even if it is at the expense of extra hose length. If blow-by is minimal, then hose length should be irrelevant. Also worth noting is that the provent 200 can swivel in 30 degree increments in its bracket, which (space permitting) might be able to remove a few hose clamps. More flexible hose may also assist here.
My 'ideal' location was to have a provent jerry-rigged near the coolant expansion bottle, but being right above the turbo / dump pipe / cat converter might put a hold on that idea- I've been meaning to schedule some testing to see what local temps we might see in that area (you know, for science). The PA/GF plastic the provent 200 is made from is reportedly good to 120 celsius.
