SubscriberSo got the newly acquired v8 County home and gave it a good clean, put some petrol in other and if roared to life. Clutch however isn't so keen. Pedal is on the floor and I can put it in gear while engine is running 😲. Feels like clutch is jammed open if that makes sense. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Andre

SubscriberThanks Scott. No it doesn't move even in gear with engine running. Pedal is able to to pushed in but has absolutely no resistance. Hoping it may just be slave cylinder.
it may be the slave thats siezed or the throw out thats siezed.
to tell fit a blanking fitting to the flex line and try the pedal. If you can make the pedal lock up near the top then its the slave or the throw out.
it could also be the flex line collapsed and not letting the fluid come back. but that usually results in a heavy footed bugger like me bending the push rod.
you could also have a combination of issues with the throwout being stuck and a leaking/air filled slave/master cylinder.

SubscriberStill searching for answers. Loosened slave cylinder but no joy yet. Car starts and you can select any gear you like with engine running and clutch out and it does not move, did notice front prop shaft spinning though.

Subscriber😊Any LR experts in the se suburbs of Melbourne??
You don't need an expert. You have something broken in the front diff/axle if the front propshaft is moving & the car isn't.
Put the transfer case into difflock - the rear propshaft will move now, along with the car.

SubscriberYou don't need an expert, give it a go yourself !!
Sounds like you have two problems.
As Scouse said lock the centre diff first and if you then have drive I would check the front side shafts, drive flanges and cv's. YouTube is your friend with this. Plenty of video available on how to remove/replace them.
As Dave said if the clutch is still not engaging it must be a seized slave cylinder or release bearing.
To eliminate the slave remove it completely from the bellhousing. If your clutch still isn't engaged it must be the release bearing.
I suspect however that once you engage the diff lock you will have drive but the clutch wont disengage. Same culprits are likely. My money would be on the slave cylinder though.
Good luck!
