ROLLOVER MY DEFENDER WE WERE LUCKY

As i write this i keep on reminding my self how lucky we were
4 weeks ago we went camping with a Group of Fathers and there Sons to Toolangi really nice and quite, on the second day l was driving my Defender 110 Wagon with my two boys 10 and 14 as we were going g down the track my vehicle slipped and all l remember landing on the roof, my first reaction was the boys my eldest which was sitting in the front kicked the Passenger door open and bailed out, l was flipped in my seat still wearing my seatbelt my head was were the pedals were and my feet on the roof (DO NOT ASK ME HOW AS IT IS GOING
THROUGH MYHEAD DAY IN DAY OUT) l asked them to give me a knife as l could not get to my seatbelt as l cut my seatbelt l rolled out of the vehicle, then my next concern was my little boy he had landed in the footwell in the back seat thank god as he would of being crushed.
As l got out and made sure the boys were all good l started to get a neck pain and my head started to swell l was coming in and out of conscious.
As l am a very prepared Driver always pack for every situation, the only thing l didn't have in my First Aid Kit was a Neck Brace which l have bought know to add in.
I would also like to Thank all the Emergency Services who came out and helped us l can not Thank them enough.
    THANK YOU
I ended up cracking my C2Neck Bone luckily l can walk and move my hands the only thing is it will be a Long Road To Recovery
THE POINT IS I WILL RECOVER
I would also like to Remind us all to be careful and always be prepared as we were the lucky ones as we all went home, when the Emergency Services came to our rescue they said to me they could not believe we all had escaped from the vehicle, l am very Grateful and LUCKY.
So please let me know what you carry in your First Aid KIT

Damn thank god you all survived. That really sucks CD. Main thing is you all survived.

This is why I hate very muddy stuff. You have absolutely no control once it starts sliding on you. Toolangi is very muddy.

Currently camping for four days.....no first aid kit, probably because we are in the middle of building our defender and haven't thrown the first aid kit into the new rig

    Good reminder.

Well on that basis you might curse God for allowing it to happen, but I digress....

We had a similar thing in our Disco, downhill in steep mud, and it was a seriously 'oinker' moment. Very bad feeling to be out of control sliding. We didn't end up upside down like CD, but it's easy to see how it could happen, especially if you get sideways.

Glad everyone got our relatively unscathed.

Thanks Crocodile Dundee for the post. Hope you make a full recovery.
It reminds us of the importance of wearing seat belts, and the dangers in steep slippery terrain.

Figure of speech. I'm not religious. But thanks for the input 😑
