Hey guys,
First time posting, but have followed the forum from a far for a while!
I have a 2010 Defender 90 - bought it used about a year ago and love it!Don't do a tonne of off roading, more so beach driving.
Which is where I was today and where my current problem started.
During the drive along Bribie Island beach heading back, the car had a very momentary splutter, but the engine never completely cut out and we kept going all the way to the car park.
It was here we realised the radio, cigarette lighter and Air Con were not working. Stereo was dead, air con and fan wouldn't come on and the phone charger running off the lighter was dead.
Figured it was a fuse and we kept on driving all the way home.
Now that we're home and the car has been turned off - it won't turn back on!
Ignition comes on, glow plug lights up (then goes out), the stereo, aircon and cigarette lighter are all turning on at the accessory stage.
But, as soon as I click the key around to start it I get nothing! And the Stereo, aircon and lighter actually cut out at that point.
There's no clicking of the starter motor or anything like that - it's purely like their is zero signal (for lack of a better term) being sent to start the car?
I've tried locking/unlocking etc thinking it might be immobiliser related - but no change.
If anyone has any tips or a good place I can start looking - it'd be appreciated!
Check the battery and earth lead connections in case one is loose and only supplying very low current that goes to zero when trying to start.
