In any event, it's part of the system and can't be overlooked.
I will have a look, but it has not been near water or off road for that matter recently.
All still good, it seems to be fine now all very odd.

That's good Chris. If you have gone through your fuel air systems and all seems OK then it probably will not happen again. So don't worry till it does.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.

*Higher mileage, may be injector seals need doing (white smoke on start up).
    *Would also cause miss.
*If it was fuel solenoid (vcv) while it may have an uneven idle, it wouldnt blow smoke on start up, and generally are hard to start or stall straight after start up.

You say "filters should be fine" .... ???? they were changed or they were not? especially fuel filter, to which I recommend on all common rail diesels, change the dam fuel filter EVERY 10,000kms.... or do it when the manufacturer says and well roll the dice on the long lasting of engine and fuel system.

Just curious, but I know with the early Prado 120's with the D4d's they had a similar problem of blow-by with faulty injector seals. This caused some major issues as the leaking gases pass the injector seal reacted with the engine oil in the rocker cover and turns the oil to a Sludge type of stuff in the sump. The Oil Pump sucks this sludge up and it eventually clogs the stainless steel mesh on the oil pickup, resulting in no engine lubrication and therefore one stuffed engine. My question is if u have leaky injector seals in these puma engines, can the same thing happen with these engines? I've never read of any, but I am curious to know if anything like that has happened with any of the pumas....
