I'm intending to lay noise insulation but after looking I figured I would just cut it to fit around the mounts as the back peels off to stick down so it won't move anyway.

Yeah... heard about this. I can understand a mod plate for adding seats, but having a hard time understanding the justification for a mod plate for removing seats...

Yeah load of crap When I had my 110 engineered he said better do the seating as I had removed 5 seats for a drawer system. Same deal if I put them back in

I think any change to the number of seats fitted by the manufacturer requires approval unless it is temporary as the vehicle is approved for sale in Australia with a certain number of seats. Any change to searbelts definitely needs approval as it is a safety issue.

I removed mine recently and fitted a storage system for a few trips. I asked the same question to a mechanic mate of mine here at work that does mod plates, and another mate is who is a police officer and the both told me that the police don't really care, but if I ever get pulled over by the Queensland Transport, (Scalies) just say "It's only out on a temporary basis for a holiday that I am doing in the next few weeks".
Q; What's the difference between a pig and a scalie?
A; You can take a pig to a party and it can't make a scalie of itself.

Yes I was told that temporary removal was OK as long as the searbelts were left untouched.
