Likely pads are too hard or If the brake rotors are like polished metal or grooves in them or have a lip on them, throw them and the pads over your shoulder.

Bendix, Delphi, eurospares, any decent brand in both pads and rotors and all will be good.
They dont have to be genuine, in fact the last genuine pads I had to get were for the latest **** Range Rover Sport and cost the debt of a small country as nobody else did them.

P.S flush your brake fluid while you are doing the big brake job.... every 2 years or so.

    Regards

Cheers for that.... I've come to also believe that the pads are too hard but finding this sort of info on the the hardness of pads is very difficult....

Replaced the Discs and Pads (BRand: RDA which is Rotor Disc Australia) about 9000k ago and flushed the brake fluid as well I think.... and that was back in Apr'17. Been chasing this squeaky brake issue for the past 3>6mths or maybe longer, I've lost track....

Going to ring MR tomorrow and get their thoughts and also visit the local Brake specialist and query about on car Disc machining......

Got to get this sorted as it is not making driving the Defender enjoyable atm...

ohhhhh RDA you say??? thats why your brakes are squealing like a stuffed pig.
Are you using the **** gold pads or the **** orange pads? both are crap.

Change the pads out for some bendix and hopefully they will be ok.

Ha, yes I've already changed Pads out for a set of Brembo Pads and to be honest, they are no better, if not worst..... I've been warned off Bendix Pads as they are a hard pad as well & will be just as noisy....

+ 1 on the TRW pads , they are the only solution I have found .
I have heard that the genuine pads are good too .

It certainly seems like a Disc Glazing issue.... but how or what causes your Discs to Glaze up ?

Well..... I bit the bullet and bought new Bosch Disc Rotors and OEM Pads and fitted them and I'm happy to say to date that the squealing has gone..... but it is still early days, so I'll be happy once I've hit the dirt tracks and come away still will no squealing brakes....

Mine squeal a lot before. My wife can not stand the noise but I am okay with it.
The squeal will alert ppl driving around me that my braking is probably a bit iffy

Then after 4 months the squeal is gone forever
    Now I miss it

Yea i have the same problem on the back right side squealing badly. Replaced rear rotors RDA brand, and brake pads delphi. New springs and pins. And almost straight away the squealing is back again. Might have to try genuine pads.

I haven't read the whole thread, so maybe its already been covered, but...
FWIW, a few years back on my 130 I replaced the rear pads with some Mintex from UK (which I've had good experience with on my County).
They squealed badly from initial install. Pulled the anti-squeal shims off the old pads and fitted them to the new ones.
Squeal gone instantly, and hasn't returned.
