Raptor Steel Binnacle Upgrade - installation

I finally needed to replace my cracked plastic binnacle as it was bouncing all over the place. Bought a Raptor Engineering steel binnacle. Great product and very well finished. All installed within a day.

I thought APT made a version of them locally?

Looks good Bushman. I'm not sure if the dash is the binnacle and the binnacle is the binnacle mount. I've seen some different naming conventions. I've just fitted the APT binnacle (also really good finish) but don't think they do the dash. I've just ordered some Q bond to try to fix my dash and centre console (where radio is) If that fails I might be contacting Raptor as well. Cheers Mark

I fitted one a while ago....both bits like you have although I removed the steering wheel.

The angle of the dash is slight more vertical now and I’ve been meaning the buy new socket head cap screws are they coated ones get a rusty film on them.

Other than that I’m happy with the swap.

I can't understand why they didn't take the opportunity to eliminate some of the wasted space on the dash. When my binnacle cracked (across the face) I made my own. I assessed what was there vs what needed to be there and came up with a design that fits 6 gauges. I'm not saying what I did was amazing, but they've gone to all of that trouble and yet still keep ALL of the redundant warning lights?

    timely post

I built the mount in aluminium about 4years ago .As the binnacle has run out of fixing points and I have ordered a new dash top time to replace it
I searched the APT site but only the mount listed so am interested for the best place to buy the raptor .For interest I made up a housing to get rid of the crappy Lucarse switchs
and fitted mid eighties toyota hylux wiper , headlight , dipper and indicator switch .The switchs are now on the right side and still feel better than the new lucas ones I originaly replaced

APT only make the binnacle mount, not the binnacle. Raptor Engineering are the only people I know who make the binnacle.

Also purchased from Brittish Offroad. Worked out a little cheaper than paying postage from the UK.

Dash looks great! You would probably get some orders if you made it commercially.
