Anyhow, im now looking at a hi lift brand jack for a chrissy present for myself and in the rovacraft catalogue pg 92 they list them along with part 'DA2244' which is the jacking point adaptor for defenders.

Now, if the factory hi lift requires the extension after I installed the A frame bar, my question is whether the hi lift defender adapter is long enough to safely reach.

    Cheers,
    Dave.
I have a high lift & adaptor if you want to try before you buy.

Just a quick note, the hi-lift style jack wasn't used on 130's as the tray overhang past the cross member is too great.

    I still carried a hi-lift though.

Thanks Mark, that's much appreciated! However
I might be able to figure out what'll work for me if you can help with some measurements.
Can you tell me the total length of the
adapter, and the length of 'rod only' section?

I found that frontrunner make 2 defender hi lift adapters that are 250mm and 350mm Extended Hi-Lift Jack Adaptor - 250mm - by Front Runner | JACK & ACCESSORIES | RECOVERY and they state the overall total length of the 250mm adapter is 400mm.

and with the A frame bar installed, the distance from the outside edge of the bar to the start of the jacking point is 160mm, so theoretically I can get up to 90mm inside the jacking point with the front runner adapter, though I figure there needs to be a bit of clearance between the jack and the car. Only other question then is how deep is recommended for safe jacking and how far would yours penetrate if the body of the jack was 160mm from the start of the mounting point?

    Many thanks!
    Dave.

I did consider wording it differently, but I thought we were all grown ups here. Obviously I was wrong.
