Travelrover - contact an independent auto glass company rather than one of the big mobs.
I chatted with a local guy here a couple of years ago about getting custom windows made for an extended cab (about the size of the wagon corner ones). My memory is a bit sketchy on the price, but IIRC he said about $200 to get a couple of windows made and fitted including seals.
He only needed a template of the cutout, and he'd make the glass size to match allowing for the seal etc.

Like Murray, I don't bother calling O'Briens any more. The only time they've actually done work for me was an insurance job - no drama's with that but then I wasn't paying

I replaced one last year. The glass from local LR dealer was about $80 and a windscreen place put it in for $65.

I checked the part out on the interweb. P/N MWC4716 4 mm glass, Glass-rear quarter, Tinted, back and got prices for genuine parts ranging from £35.99-£41.80 plus shipping, so around $100 landed here.

By comparison I thought I would get a price from Obrien’s Glass thinking it would probably be similar and I should support local. I priced a second hand one from a wrecker but it wasn’t tinted and that was $55 delivered and I could install myself. I read a thread here recently that these are surprisingly easy fit, and remove!!

After a number of emails including photos of the rear of the vehicle and telephone conversations they get back to me with a price. And this is using the genuine Land Rover part so we are comparing apples with apples, they apparently do not cut these but only use the genuine item..

The price was $585 fitted, marginally less if I went to my nearest branch.

Needless to say I won’t be proceeding with that offer.

Thanks all for the suggestions. tonyf, you are correct. Much to my surprise the price from a stealer is still around $81.00.

And yes i think I'll be giving obriens a miss in the future.
    Cheers
