    Hi Dazzler,

EDIT: sorry mate, I misread your post title - I have the standard UltraGauge. These points might be common to the Blue though, so I'll leave them up if you like.

I found it to be plug & play. Just follow the instructions for setting up your gauges. Some points:

    * Fuel usage - I'm not certain this works properly with Defenders. This might just be my calibration efforts, but I'm not sure.

    * Fitment - I had to cut a small rectangle hole in the fuse box cover for it to fit over the UltraGauge plug... no big deal.

    * Crank battery - be sure to disconnect the UltraGauge when you ever disconnect / reconnect your crank battery. Start engine briefly first before plugging UltraGauge back in.

Failure to do so will result in tacho not working. It is fixed by turning engine off, unplugging UltraGauge and restarting engine. Then turn engine off again and plug the UltraGauge back in and you're right to go..... don't ask how I know about this.... suffice to say, it does not help with Defender anxiety !

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Thanks Pete

I haven't had a chance to play with it properly. I have it plugged in and working but not calibrated. I was interested more on the calibration side of things. Is there a defender spec gauge available for download from cloud that you use?

    Also any noticeable battery drain?

I'm not aware of any alternatives specific for Defenders.

My standard UltraGauge does not run with the engine off. I assume this results in either no or negligible battery drain.

    Cheers.

P.S. you might want to check out Defender2.net about the calibration. I haven't as yet.

Interested to see what you think.

I looked at the Blue, but we have so much on the phones already that this was just further complication and drain.

Not to mention opening the app, setting the phone in the cradle etc...

So went the Ultraguage and looking to cut open the dash and install.

I just used the BAS interface.....
What are the differences? Does ultra gauge provide more info?

I purchased the Ultragauge with intent to make it integrated into the dash (and I paid $90 for it)..

The BAS interface lives in a Pelican case for other tasks UltraGauge Blue on a Puma
