    Oil leaks- 300tdi

I have a few oil leaks on my 300tdi that I'm trying to get sorted. Just wondering if anyone could help me figure out where they're coming from:

    Transfer case?

    Rear main?

Dripping off front diff onto ground, maybe from oil filter?

Gearbox? If a manual then I could not be sure, no experience with this model. Could be blow over from transfer case issue. Worn seals between cases allowing gearbox oil to be pushed into transfer case, then over flow through breather?

Transfer case? Centre shaft has worn its seal and/or created an oval hole in casing.

Rear main? Main seal and/or t-seal.

Dripping off front diff onto ground, maybe from oil filter? Vacuum pump and/or engine oil cooler lines, other lines dealing with engine oil such as bypass recirculation, hardened seal under oil filler cap. Fuel lift pump or injector pump leak, mixing diesel with engine oil leaks.

Leaking around wheel. Line of grease on swivel indicates moly grease filled constant velocity chamber, axle oil seal close to chamber worn, letting diff oil in, which then might leak through lower pinion.

I have just eliminated similar looking leaks on my 96 Disco 300tdi manual. Firstly clean around the gear box/TC, rear of the motor and head, lift pump, vacuum pump and steering box. Most of my leak was coming from a leaking tappet cover (note - the secret here is not to over tighten the cover). Then monitor where it is leaking. I also eliminated a leaks around the vacuum pump. Vacuum and lift pump are notorious for leaking. I currently have no leaks

A fortunate situation - it leaves one wondering when the next one is going to start

As some guru once said " you can't keep the water out of 'em, and you can't keep the oil in 'em"

If it's not leaking, it might be empty!

Seriously most leaks look far worse than they are. They also migrate along way.
It's hard to see from your photos how much is leaking. Wipe all clean so you can monitor. If one really starts dripping get it fixed.

The rearmain seal does not appear to be leaking as there is no oil on the wading plug thread.
Source of oil is probably the vacumm pump.

Gearbox is the same as mine. I suspect the leak is coming from the selector shaft at the top of the box.

Transfer case maybe because those bolts are thru holes and need sealant/thread locker on the threads.

The drip on the oil filter is common.
Maybe caused by the oil cooler line crimp connection, o ring on the end of the pipe or the oil thermostat oring.

Apart from the transfer case, all are easily fixed.
