    Schnorkell and pre-cleaner

I fitted the Nugget Snorkel sealing kit, helps greatly in ensuring the air entering the filter box is only from the head of the snorkel as opposed to water/air from leaks in plumbing.
I also installed a Sy-Klone International pre-cleaner. I noticed that Nugget had one and it works very well in removing the dust prior to going down the snorkel.
I also removed the flow director from the entrance of the airbox as it greatly slowed the rate of air entering the airbox(this also reduced the amount of negative pressure and therefore slowed the Sy-Klone).

On Cape York trip it greatly reduced amount of dust in filter. There was still a tiny amount but much less than those who didn't use a pre-cleaner.

As said before the very best way to prevent dust getting into the air cleaner is to keep out of the dust but if you can't avoid it or insist on tailgaiting the truck in front of you those tractor type pre cleaners work very well as long as you empty them out on a regular basis.
I am not sure how you would fit them on the rectangular tops of a snorkel But I imagine that they make them to fit.

Also useful for extracting yourself from the wreckage after running off the road due to the centre diff lock not being engaged.

Don't don't don't pull your air filter out just to have a look and give it a whack on something. I've always gone by the advice in this video.

That’s the good thing about the Sy-Klone, the dust particles are ejected out the side. Have a Captain Cook at the video on the site.
Donaldson’s have the dust accumulate at the bottom of the bowl
