    130 front springs

Can I do a 50mm lift in the front of a puma without doing a prop shaft upgrade? Ive had heavy duty standard height fitted for about 2 years, and have never really been happy with the ride or handling.
Ive fitted a 50mm lift in the front of my other Td5 130 and the ride is fantastic, thanks in advance for any advice

There doesn't seem to be consistency among owners whether a 2" lift will invoke vibrations. The 130 in standard trim is +1" on a D110 and D90 in the front. Complicate that with the marketing that most off the shelf coil makers use a firmer rate to achieve lift with no actual increase in coil length and they often use the D110 as the benchmark. So you likely end up with a HD coil that is shorter than your stock D130 coil.

back to your Q. the lazy answer is fit the coils and see, upgrade the shaft only if there is a problem.

For what it is worth, (having gone through 4 sets of coils), get custom coils made at +2" over the free length of a stock D130 coil, keep the rate the same (225 lbs/in) and try to match the number of coils per foot. Within reason you will end up with a +2" lift that handles the same as a factory coil. at $300 a pair for custom its worth the extra $80 an end to get what you want.

    Thanks MLD,
Thats interesting about spring manufactures basing everything on the 110 specs, In hindsight I should have stayed with the standard 130 springs in the front.
Being a loaded dual cab, Id be doubtful of much weight transfer forward onto the front axle. I think Ill get the same springs as my 130 single cab and see how things go.

I would start with a new set of NRC9448 in the front. Yes i know that is the right side front spring however it seems that most of the loaded 110 and 130 i have fitted these to sit just fine with 2 RH coils in the front.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊

When I read up on all the problems associated with the front propshaft, I decided to install a d/c front prop at the same time as adding height. Adding $700 to the job hurt a bit but I sucked it up and haven't regretted it. A mate lifted his 110 Puma and left the original propshaft in, had 2 years of vibrations and unpleasantness and then spent the cash anyway.
