Indicators not blinking on remote unlocking

When unlocking my 2009 Defender with the remote the indicators do not blink but on locking they work. The doors lock and unlock o/k but its not indicating on unlocking. Could this be the start of a problem.
Thanks to anyone that can help

On my 2012 they have never worked. Changed the batteries in the key fobs as the warning light the dash came on. Warning light gone but still no flashing of lights :-(

    Hi,
Had a similar issue last time I had the battery disconnected.
It seems to have resolved itself after a few weeks.
Puzzled over it for a while though.
    Cheers
