I have the same and have proper pugs mounted between the cab and headboard (twin cab) but have heard of people mounting them on Bullbars but feel they are to exposed.
Will post pics soon.
Hello everyone,
i am a bit over the idea of getting my wife to get out and pull apart the seat every time I need to jump-start some one. (Yes i know i can just drive past like everyone else, but i’m Not like that). Ive been thinking is there anyway some kind of connection could be put outside the battery box. ? Anyone got any ideas?
I was thinking of something like large bolts and I inserting a nut into a piece of nylon round stock to stop the risk of shortage on the positive side but unsure as to what would be a strong enough insulator, or even if it is possible?
Just throwing an idea up, and seeing if it comes down with some fruit, or gets blasted away.
Thanks

Hie thee down to a Caterpillar dealer and check out Caterpillar buddy plugs. Used on all sorts of mining and construction equipment.

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser & the battery is totally inaccessible under the air box , As standard they have a bolt next to the Engine Fuse box with a sticker saying "jump start positive" with a red plastic cap.
Negative bolt is on the nearby metalwork. The car sits idle for months & usually starts right up unless I leave the key in ACC position , in which case a jump start on said bolts works perfectly.

SubscriberI will be doing this when I get the time. 175A Anderson connectors. Single 35mm cable for the positive and using the chassis for the earth (if that is crap I will run a cable parallel)
Should easily handle bursts of cranking.
Of course the trick is to leave it connected for a few minutes first to give the other cars battery a chance to build some charge before trying to start.
Edit: kit available on ebay if you dont have the tools
