Check thoroughly for rust, particularly in the chassis, floor, bulkhead and roof.

    Buying a Defender

Looking at a couple on Gumtree. Green 110 wagon, Red 110 hard top and a 130 single cab.
What would need to be done to make these vehicles reliable for a desert crossing.
Or is it just asking for trouble and high costs to repair and set up.
What to look for. Where to start to get it reliable. What needs to be done to set it for the out back.
    Thanks gurus for the help.
I think this unit would be great value and in great condition if it comes with the army service book validating its kms.

My 300tdi has 465,000klms only issue i have is the oil pressure isn't great 8psi at hot idle and about 30psi at 2500rpm. Cold is ok usually 40psi on cold start and will hang there until 80 degrees coolant temp. Other than been reliable engine.

You need to take one for a drive.
    They are an acquired taste.
    Noise
    Seating
    Noise again.
    They are not everyones taste.
If you are mechanically inclined then get a defender.
    Anything can be fixed.
