    My knob has split

    Hi Gents
My gear stick knob has split. I remember seeing something here on a replacement but reverse was awkward. With just having a shoulder reco, I really don’t want to have to fight with it. AnyRecommendations please
    Thx Ian

I bought two new brass door knobs from the local salvage shop. They were threaded 9mm x 1.25 so I drilled them and re-tapped them to suit the LT85 gear sticks.

I'm assuming with the PUMA gear levers that they do not screw off and that it's a whole replacement Gear Lever ??

My Puma knob has split too. Will be checking out a replacement on Monday. Looks too me that the whole thing has to be changed down to the tunnel.

Cut or break off the cracked knob. Run an appropriate sized die over the end of the lever and screw on a knob from Bunnings or supercheap. Easy.

Just put a hose clamp on it until your shoulder is well enough to allow you to refit another OEM unit or an Exmoor trim upgrade one.

No need to thread a door handle on it.
