    what are these 'rivets' for?

i've removed the dash to replace broken wiper wheel and decided to give the dash a bit of a refurb and install some dynamat

whilst cleaning and preparing to dynamat i noticed a couple of what looked like rivets that were loose.
at least one has fallen through to the other side towards the engine bay. I can't see the hole from the engine bay so i assume the 'rivet' has fallen through and got stuck in the cavity.

does anyone know what these rivets are for?

in the pic the rivets are slightly below the upper fold in the bulkhead.

The silvery one nearest to the aperture looks like a nutsert. Does it have a thread inside? If so, something must screw into it.

sorry the pic isn't too clear. yes there are two nutserts. one on the left near the aperture and one on the right near an aperture. both about 40-50mm below the upper fold. they bolt the upper part of the main section of the dash. the rest of the main section of the dash are secured by screws.

the rivets i'm asking about are just under the fold. in the pic they are the upper ones, slightly rusty. there are five or six in total, although some are just empty holes as the rivet end fell through

They're covered in Dynamat now. So if they can't be seen, they can't be counted.
