    Tyre size question.

Could someone please tell me if 33" tyres will fit without rubbing on the gaurds using standard height coil springs ?
Also are Discovery 1 rear trailing arms the same as those used on a 2006 Defender ?
    Thanks.Tyre size question.

That depends on width of the tyres and the offset of the wheels.

Standard rims, which I believe are 0 Deg offset.
The tyre wouldn't be much wider than standard. I will check when I get home from work but I think they are 285 X 75 X 16.
    Cheers.

Standard 130 HD 6.5" rims are 20.6mm offset.
    Standard 110 7" rims are 33mm offset.

That's interesting... I've run both the Disco rims with a 235/85/16 tyre and also the standard Defender Alloy Rim with the 265/75/16 MT tyres. Both these tyres do make contact or slightly rub on the outer edge of the rear Spring Perch. Whether its the actual tyre or just the side lugs but that outer edge of the spring perch is nice and shiny after 4wdriving....

Thanks for the information fellas. As I no longer have a second car, I wanted to be sure before going ahead and changing over the springs. Much appreciated.
    Cheers.

Our D1 had a 50mm lift and we found the largest tyre which would fit without rubbing was 245/70/16. The 245/75/16 just rubbed.
