    CV endfloat.

    Does anyone actually do this? I recently got my car back from a L/R "specialist" to find the shim that should be under the axle circlip, under the drive flange nut. Not happy. I don't have a dial indicator, hence why I took it to someone. I hate correcting work I've paid someone to do.

    Never actually stuck a dial indicator on to check it, but I always replace the shim and make sure there is a smidge of movement back and forward and that it’s not too tight. Without any shim there I should think there will be quite a lot of end float but not sure when a lot is too much though. Not much of a specialist if they can’t put it back together the way it came apart IMO, it’s a pretty easy job.

    shim it using feeler gauges..

    10 thou max float.
