Lift - on its own - and in itself - does not allow bigger tyres.

All lift does is alter the static point of the suspension. To all 2" lifted Puma Owners

I have rear Airbag Man airbags so can adjust the firmness of the rear suspension as required.

They are great. They level it up with towing. I run 15 psi all the time just to limit the roll on windy roads, but the ride remains excellent. Much better than stiff springs giving a harsh ride.

Andrew. A friendly tip - this is not FB (although you can edit posts on there also) - simply tap your original post and click the edit button to correct errors.

I put 130 HD springs in the front to counter the weight of the ARB bar, winch and steel cable. The extra weight didn't drop it as much as anticipated and the front end is just under an inch higher than standard.

With draws, fridge and long range tank in the back, I put airbag man 'bag assist' in to level it up and for towing. As DiscoMick said, it is much more stable and the ride is great 👍

Mine has a synthetic winch cable with the ARB bullbar and winch, which saves a bit of weight. I've considered upgrading the front springs, but am wary of making it too stiff.
I'm impressed the original shocks still seem okay after 130,000 kms, but we'll see how long they last.
It's not supposed to be a sports car. I want an absorbent ride over bad roads.

"I have found it much rougher to drive when empty than my TDI. It is much smoother if it is full of gear"

Sounds like your springs are too stiff when empty. Maybe go to lighter springs with airbags to help when loaded.

It will be the dampening not the coils.
